About the School ...
Where creativity and imagination meet learning … Mamie Martin Elementary serves students preschool through second grade. Once students have moved through the school’s onsite thriving preschool program, they enter kindergarten better prepared for the official start of their academic journey.
With a teaching staff of 71, Mamie Martin teachers and their assistants deliver excellent educational opportunities for the almost 850 students while also nurturing and encouraging their creative abilities and sense of community involvement. Students are linked to one another in the classroom while strengthening their awareness of the outside world and the opportunities that await them.
While attending Mamie Martin, students are active in the classroom with the latest instructional tools and technology available. Students are also closely linked to the outside community through projects, visitors, guest speakers and special events during the school year. Some of these enrichment programs include the annual Reading Fair, Move & Groove, It’s a GRAND Month, Panther Spirit Days, Martin Moms & Dandy Dads, Give Kids A Smile Day, Career Days, Presidential Projects, Community Christmas Caroling and many other classroom activities.
Parents can also stay busy with updated resources and valuable information made available to them for FREE in the Brookhaven School District Parent Center, which is located at Mamie Martin School. Parents are encouraged to visit this resource center to pick up learning tools and utilize educational enrichment materials.
This year, among a student body of around 800 energetic, eager and enthusiastic elementary students, there is never a slow moment at Mamie Martin!
