Technology Department

The Brookhaven School District is committed to making the classroom environment as stimulating as possible through the use of current technology. The district makes the equipment and tools available to the classrooms, but also provides ongoing training for teachers so that techniques are successfully implemented.

The Brookhaven School District's Technology Department provides technology repair services and assistance to teachers and staff throughout the district. We strive to improve student achievement through the infusion of technology into the district's standards-based curriculum. Instruction is varied and dynamic, reflecting the diversity of student needs in the schools. The focus is on learning with information and technology, rather than learning about technology.

Technology is used to enhance and support teaching and to help students develop digital literacy and meet state standards. Some of the recent advancements that have been made include the implementation of wireless internet in the classrooms. All science and math classrooms in grades 3 through 12 received laptops, projectors, and Interwrite boards to make the learning process more up to date and diverse for the students.
