William Carey University is offering courses starting this summer for the M.Ed. in Elementary Education, M.Ed. in Secondary Education, M.A.T. in Elementary Education (Alternate Route), and M.A.T. in Secondary Education (Alternate Route).  We have been invited to North Pike High School with Dr. Ben Cox as the program site.

If there were sufficient number of teachers in your district interested in the program, we could consider setting up an additional site in your area.

I also would like to invite you to join our P-16 Council. The council would meet in the district with your selected teachers and administrators (1-2 times a year) to discuss ways to build partnerships with the university. 

Also we will be awarding a scholarship (1 graduate class $900) to every teacher who has mentored a first year teacher this year. This is part of the university’s commitment to encourage quality mentorships for all first year teachers.  These scholarships are transferable. Please call me if you would like to be a P-16 Council district and let’s arrange a date before the end of school to award the scholarships. To our knowledge we are the only university in the state offering mentoring scholarships to master teachers.

We are offering the Master Inservice Program, where the School of Education validates all the inservice training your district has completed with teachers for the year of 2011-2012. The cost is only $300 per school and covers all staff for multiple CEU certificates. There are now nine districts using this service and have been able to validate all their inservice training for their teachers. This is a great benefit for teachers wishing to renew and it is a minimal cost per school. Please contact me if you would like more information.
