Having 26 years in anywhere is saying alot about the person. Either they are truly insane or they really like their job. I am a little of both. I still get up ever day looking forward to what I do. "I wanted to be a teacher but found out I was too much the coward". was a quote a former student sent me. He wants me to stay in the class room. So I stay.
Educated high school Texarkana Arkansas High in Texarkana, Ark.Where I discovered that I liked being on the stage. Was the best actress for our One Act Play competitions my senior year and have been working the stage ever since.
Henderson State University in Arkadelphia was the finishing ground for my education in the theatre. I was a choreographer and student director for all the productions covering a two year period. Did some of the best work I would do as a choreographer in theKing and I and Camelot. Loved every minute of it.
I have been with the same guy for the past 43 years, Doug Clanton a former coach and teacher.Between us we have 60 years in the Mississippi education system. We can not count the number of students who called us teacher/coach and now call us friend.
My last child was married this summer. He is also a teacher/coach in West Marion and has a new wife, Heather and two step children. My older son is married and lives in Dallas and he has my grand-child plus 6 step children. My grand-son Dajun is on the forensics team in Dallas. Following my light.
I have been in this district 19 years and was once told that I would have to go all the way to the coast, Clinton and Hattiesburg to find any students better then those here.
