About the School ...
Brookhaven High School stands strong as an iconic symbol of community and tradition in Brookhaven. Tens of thousands of students have passed through its front doors as freshmen and left BHS for the start of their adulthood. This year, in 2012-13, there are 830 students making their journey. Along the way, memories are made, friendships are forged and students discover who they are and what they want to accomplish in life.
Over the years, Brookhaven High School has added facilities, buildings, programs, and opportunities for its 9th through 12th grade students. Within the 15 years, the school underwent a $13 million dollar transformation and continues to look for ways to improve its facilities to keep up with the quality of instruction.
Along with student participation, the teaching staff of around 60 makes many of the academic and extra-curricular programs at Brookhaven High accomplished and award winning. Students are exposed to a growing menu of options regarding their personal interests as they work through the courses necessary for a college or professional career. Forsenics & Debate, Academic Teams, Band, Choir, Foreign Languages/Spanish Club, English, history and science electives, Student Council, National Honor Society, Students for Soldiers, Earth Connections, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a full range of athletics and classes through the Career Technical Center are all offered to enrich and encourage students as they work through high school and beyond.
